TRICERA energy is integrating battery storage systems into existing wind farm infrastructure for Eurus Energy Europe
Waardenburg, Netherlands, October 23, 2025
TRICERA energy, the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contractor and system integrator for large-scale battery storage systems, and Eurus Energy Europe (“Eurus”), a developer and investor in renewable energy projects operating in six European countries, have signed a contract to build a battery storage facility near the town of Waardenburg in the Netherlands. Eurus is part of the Toyota Tsusho Corporation.
The grid-connected battery storage system, with an installed capacity of 40 MWh and a power output of 15 MW, will be built in the municipality of West-Betuwe within the 21 MW Eurus wind farm and is expected to participate in energy trading upon completion. A key feature of this project is the integration of the storage system into the existing wind farm infrastructure.
In this project, TRICERA energy is focusing on the engineering, the construction of the entire facility—including the medium-voltage substation—and the system integration of the containers from Tier-1 battery manufacturer Gotion Hightech. With the energy management system developed by TRICERA, the project relies on a flexible solution that is specifically tailored to the project’s requirements.
As the company responsible for the balance-of-plant, TRICERA can also contribute its core competencies to a significant degree. The implementation of various system components such as inverters, transformers, medium-voltage systems, and the EMS demonstrates that the battery storage EPC and integrator possesses the technical, electrical, and software expertise to meet the complex requirements of the system architecture in other markets and regulatory frameworks as well.
Lars Fallant, CEO of TRICERA energy, comments: “This project marks the company’s first major undertaking in the Netherlands. With the battery storage system for Eurus, we are consistently pursuing our growth strategy of successfully building battery storage systems for our customers as an EPC and system integrator, even outside of Germany. At the same time, it demonstrates once again that we are able to offer and implement sensible and cost-effective solutions for complex project conditions. Of particular note is the excellent and trusting collaboration with Eurus, Toyota Tsusho, and the other partners involved, which played a key role in shaping the constructive dialogue in the lead-up to the project.”
