(Berlin, August 4, 2026) The Algerian company IRIS JC INDUSTRIAL and TRICERA energy have signed a memorandum of understanding to establish a strategic partnership for renewable energy projects in Algeria and Africa.
At the German-Algerian Economic Forum on green hydrogen held a few days ago in Berlin, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by Mourad Louadah, CEO of IRIS, and Tim Müller, Ph.D., CTO of TRICERA. The business forum was part of the Algerian president’s visit, accompanied by a large Algerian business delegation, to meet with Chancellor Friedrich Merz. The agreed-upon goal of both countries is to further strengthen economic cooperation.
In this specific case, the two companies plan to promote, market, and deploy energy storage solutions (BESS) as well as PV-BESS hybrid systems, primarily on a large scale (“utility scale”); to jointly participate in public and private tenders; and to develop pilot projects, demonstration facilities, and technology platforms. Due to extreme temperatures and significant economic growth, Algeria faces major challenges in ensuring a stable energy supply. Together, IRIS and TRICERA aim to provide solutions for a stable and sustainable energy supply for Algeria’s future.
TRICERA brings its technological expertise in advanced energy storage technologies, BESS solutions, and smart energy management systems to the partnership.
The Algerian company is recognized as a leading expert in the Algerian market for hybrid photovoltaic systems, off-grid and on-grid power supply systems, as well as battery energy storage systems (BESS), and has extensive local experience in development, integration, and implementation.
TRICERA was able to secure Dr. Drifa Merabet as its representative in the Algerian market for this project. She has an extensive network in Algeria’s energy sector and a long history of working toward the transition of the Algerian energy sector to renewable energy. She will support the relationship between the two companies, drive market development, and coordinate business and strategic exchanges.
