Field Service Technician – Network Engineering

We are looking for a full-time or part-time Field Service Technician to join our team in Dresden as soon as possible.

This is what your day-to-day work with us will look like

  • Configure, install and commission network components (e.g. routers, switches and firewalls) directly at our energy storage facilities.
  • Connect and configure network devices and endpoints, including IP addressing, routing and access control settings.
  • Implement VLAN structures to ensure secure network segmentation in accordance with the configured network components.
  • Commission and integrate critical infrastructure (KRITIS) compliant systems, taking redundancy and access protection requirements into account.
  • Analyze faults, troubleshoot issues and optimize performance of existing network infrastructures during field service assignments.
  • Conduct functional testing and acceptance procedures following installation and configuration activities.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation covering configurations, connections and system status.
  • Collaborate closely with IT security, operations and project teams to ensure seamless on-site network integration.

What you bring to the table

  • Completed vocational training or equivalent qualification in network engineering, communications technology, IT systems electronics, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of networking technologies, particularly TCP/IP, VLANs, routing and firewalls, combined with a solid understanding of network infrastructures.
  • Experience in the configuration, commissioning, operation and troubleshooting of IT network infrastructures.
  • Hands-on technical skills and a passion for practical on-site work at our energy storage facilities.
  • Basic Linux knowledge, particularly in shell scripting.
  • Willingness to travel extensively for field assignments and on-site work (approximately 40% office-based and 60% on-site activities).
  • A valid Class B driver’s license.
  • Fluent German and English language skills (minimum B2 level).
  • Strong communication skills, a collaborative mindset, and a structured, independent way of working.
