Software Engineer – BESS

Help us shape the energy supply of the future!

We are looking for a new full-time team member in the field of software development at our Dresden office, to start as soon as possible.

This is what your day-to-day work with us will look like

• You will develop our application software for battery storage systems – from architecture to implementation.
• You will implement interfaces to inverters, battery containers, grid operators, and energy suppliers – using protocols such as Modbus-TCP, OPC UA, MQTT, and HTTP APIs.
• You will work on data collection, storage, and visualization using InfluxDB, TimescaleDB, and Grafana.
• You will contribute to architectural decisions and further develop our codebase together with the team.

What you bring to the table

• Several years of experience in software development—ideally with a degree in computer science, automation engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
• Strong proficiency in a typed language, such as Go, C, C++, or Rust.
• Proficiency with Git, GitHub, and the shell
• Familiarity with Linux and containerized environments, e.g., Docker, Kubernetes
• Understanding of common protocols such as Modbus, MQTT, OPC-UA, or HTTP APIs
• Independent, structured work style and interest in software architecture
• Very good German or English language skills (min. B2)
• A plus
  • Experience with time-series databases (InfluxDB, TimescaleDB)
  • Basic knowledge of electrical engineering—particularly the relationships between power, voltage, and current
  • Background in energy engineering, automation, or industry-related applications
