Summary
These are two projects for Stadtwerke Villingen-Schwenningen.
In the first stage, as battery storage specialists, we are responsible for preparing and submitting the planning application for both projects. In the second stage, we will act as the EPC contractor for the design, manufacture, delivery, installation and commissioning of the turnkey, fully functional large-scale battery storage systems. The systems, which together have a usable capacity of 30 MWh and a power output of 15 MW, are intended to participate in the energy market and also to provide primary and secondary control power.
Detailed planning for the battery storage project has begun, with commissioning currently scheduled for late autumn 2026. In total, SVS is investing around 10 million euros in the two battery storage systems.
The storage facility is part of the Stadtwerke Villingen-Schwenningen site and will be operated as a stand-alone system and marketed via a service provider using the multi-market approach. Particular mention should be made of the excellent collaboration with the Thüga Group, which, as a network of municipal utilities, plays an exemplary coordinating role.
