TRICERA energy is building its fourth battery storage facility for ABO Energy in Schönfeld
Schönfeld, April 9, 2026
ABO Energy, a renewable energy project developer, and TRICERA energy, the general contractor (EPC) and system integrator for large-scale battery storage systems, are continuing their trusted partnership from recent years: Following their successful collaboration in Euskirchen, Wald-Michelbach, and Weichenried in 2023, TRICERA energy is once again supporting the construction of an innovative project.
In Schönfeld, Baden-Württemberg (Main-Tauber district), ABO Energy plans to combine an open-field PV plant with a rated output of 7.3 megawatts and a large-scale battery storage system. The storage system has a capacity of 2.7 megawatts and a storage capacity of 10 megawatt-hours. The electricity generated by the PV plant can thus be temporarily stored as needed and fed into the grid at a later time. ABO Energy was awarded the contract for the project back in the fall of 2024 through the Federal Network Agency’s innovation tender.
Unlike in previous projects with ABO Energy, lithium iron phosphate batteries will be used for the first time in Schönfeld. “We are pleased that we can once again count on the high level of technical expertise from TRICERA energy,” said Jörg Wieser, Head of Technical Procurement.
“We are very pleased to be able to implement another project with ABO Energy and thank them for the trust they have placed in us. The signing of this contract underscores the strong relationship we maintain with our customers and partners even after a project has been completed, and that they turn to us when new tasks arise. Our goal is to continue this trusting collaboration in this fourth project as well,” adds Florian Weiß, Head of Implementation at TRICERA energy.
